Greater daily gain and lean deposition in pigs

This study investigated the interactions between dietary ractopamine and betaine on growth and carcass characteristics in restrictively fed pigs. Pigs fed betaine had:

- greater daily gain (+8%)
- greater lean deposition (+5%)
- no effect on fat deposition
